Marco Regalado Chacon
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist 136381
My path into therapy has been guided by a deep and enduring curiosity about the human experience, and by my own.
As an immigrant who grew up navigating a bicultural identity, I understand firsthand what it means to feel caught between worlds, to carry the weight of expectations, and to long for a space where you can simply be yourself without explanation.
These experiences are not abstract to me. They inform how I listen, how I connect, and why I do this work.
That's why I became a therapist.
I completed my Master's in Counseling at Saint Mary's College of California and have spent the last seven years working with adults who are ready to look inward. My approach is person-centered and collaborative, designed to help you thrive in a safe, affirming environment.
I am primarily trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), a skills-based approach that helps people build emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and healthier relationships. I weave in Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients get curious about the parts of themselves that drive their patterns, because real change comes from understanding, not fighting, those parts. I also incorporate somatic interventions, recognizing that healing happens in the body as much as the mind.
This combination allows me to meet clients where they are: offering practical tools when that's what's needed, and going deeper when they're ready.
What I specialize in:
Anxiety and depression
Trauma and PTSD
LGBTQ+ identity and affirmation
Cultural and ethnic identity
Self-esteem and self-worth
Stress and burnout
Addiction and substance use
Mood disorders
About me: I identify as a bilingual (English/Spanish), Latinx, LGBTQ+ immigrant therapist and person of color. My lived experience informs my clinical work and helps me connect authentically with clients from a wide range of backgrounds.
I am not currently accepting couples for therapy.
